I’ll Vote for More Time Please
I want to know which presidental political candidate will be proposing more time in a day. There just isn’t enough. I can’t seem to get everything done in one day and if there was just another hour a day, I could probably do it.
So, who’s with me, we vote for the next president who will add more time to a day?
If you get the opportunity to ask any of the candidates, and are stumped for those tough questions the reporters keep asking them, like are you for or against terrorism, then ask them, “Would you add more time to the day and if so, how much?” That should send them spinning.
But my vote is up for grabs, if any one presidental candidate will say yes, (even if I knew he was lying) and stuck with that decision and didn’t change it, I’d vote for him/her. That’s all its come down to this election for me… The need for extra time…
Good luck…

Computers
Well, its going to be a busy weekend. 40 computers and a new server to install. Going with Windows 2003 Server Small Business Edition and Windows XP Pro on the desktop. Should be interesting getting this all to work smoothly, but will be a very needed upgrade for the company.
On a separate note, I’m hoping to finally sell my Seimens SX56 Pocket PC phone edition today with a few of the accessories. It’s been just gathering dust, and someone emailed me who lives in Minnesota that wanted to get one.
Once we’re done with this deployment, I’m thinking about starting a lan party friday night at the company. Mainly targetted to IT folks, but anyone would be welcome. We’d provide the space, T1, and networking cabling and switches, you bring the computer and we’ll pick a different game and play one friday each month. Figure it will be a good way to get IT people into our offices, but also have some fun playing lan based games…

Busy, Busy, Busy…
It’s been a busy last couple of weeks… Getting started in my new job has presented a whole new set of challenges across the board. Lots of things to do, things that need to get done, and not enough time to get them all done, but I’m loving it…
This last weekend had my good friend Jordan Beswick in town with his two boys. We hit the Mall of America, did the whole Camp Snoopy thing and had a blast. His two boys got along with my oldest daughter and my wife was great enough to take care of us all.
Jordan and I worked on editting a movie for him by starting to use iMovie on my 15″ powerbook, but quickly realized that we’d need something else… So I picked up Final Cut Express and I absolutely love it. It is a piece of cake to operate and get edits done, things just make sense. Right now Apple is offering Final Cut Express for $99 with any new Mac purchased, versus the retail $299. However, even at $299 its well worth it. My only complaints is, no real time audio rendering??? Or at least I can’t find a way to turn it on… Also, very difficult to figure out how to export to iDVD, but after figuring it out, it was quite simple… iDVD crashed a couple of times in rendering, but after starting over, I was able to get 3 DVD’s made in a few hours…

It’s Officially Over…
Well, my 7 year journey with Xerox Corporation finally came to an end yesterday with my exit interview.
I have absolutely no complaints, every good, bad or indifferent thing that happened while I was working for Xerox has been a great learning experience. The path I took was not one I planned, but worked out very well. I will truely miss working with the great people that make up Xerox.
Moving on to a new company, The Bureau of Engraving, as Technology Marketing and Support Manager will be a completely new endevour. There are many challenges, big and small in front of me, and the great thing is there are so many great people who work for The Bureau that have welcomed me. I can’t wait to help drive a new way to do print…
So have a great 4th of July, enjoy the weather, fireworks, food, and libations. Ironically, I’m celebrating my idependance as well… 🙂

Announcement and A Few Other Things…
Well, I made the announcement, some of you might have seen it, before the server went down. Down for the count…
Anyway, the announcement was that I resigned from Xerox after 7 years effective July 1st.
I’ve taken a position with a company called The Bureau of Engraving or for short The Bureau. I’ll be responsible for helping drive their digital printing business and help them with developing new business opportunities through the use of technology. The position is called Technology Marketing and Support Manager. Part Sales and Marketing, part IT but it should be fun.
As for the server… Well, it took a nose dive due to circumstances beyond my control, but we are back up on a new server and all should be good.
So if you need print, digital or otherwise, let me know, we have some of the best technology in the business!

Stay tuned…
Stay tuned for a big announcement…
Can’t say what it is now, but I’ll be making an announcement soon 🙂

President Ronald Reagan Passed Away Today
Ronald Reagan, age 93, passed away today after a 10 year battle with Alzheimers Disease.
Frankly, I read on Drudge, that this was coming, but nothing prepared me for the actual news of his passing. Ronald Reagan was truely a great American. He defined eternal optimism and what patriotism should be. His radical change in policy in regards to the Soviet Union, forcing them to crack under the departure from Detante to Star Wars and a huge military buildup. His demanding that the Berlin Wall be torn down, and all the other wonderful things he did, he will be remembered.
It might be said that Ronald Reagan will go down in history as on of the 20th centuries greatest presidents, and nothing could be further from the truth. Reagan’s rise to the presidency marked a return of patriotism, usered in an age of growth and prosperity not seen in any other modern time. His detractors will point out his scandals, Iran – Contra, a 3 trillion dollar deficit, and others, but ultimately I will remember Ronald Reagan for what he did for this country and the world.
Ten long years battling Alzheimers had to take its toll on the whole Reagan family, so my best wishes goes out to the whole Reagan family and thier friends, that his struggle is finally over and he is in a good place… Rest in Peace, Ronald Reagan.

Alex King’s Tips for Bloggers
Alex King has put together some good tips for starting bloggers… I’m guilty of not following a few, like apologizing for not posting, not that I was feeling self-important, but more like feeling guilty for having a blog and not having any posts on it 🙂
Also, I’ve made a committment to get more involved in the “blogsphere” as Alex said. WordPress has given me a renewed positive experience that MoveableType just couldn’t provide. Not sure exactly what it was, maybe the constant rebuilding of static pages, that brought servers to their knees?
Anyway, if you read this blog and want to start your own blog, read Alex’s tips and get involved. If you need hosting, find cheap webhosting, register a domain name and post a comment or two!

Going Back to Cali
Link: Garnett, Sprewell return series to L.A.
Wolves win, down now 3-2 and force a sixth game back in L.A.
Monday night will be a win and/or go home. Win and the Timberwolves go home for game 7, lose and they just go home.
It’s been a good series, and Monday night’s game is bound to be an exciting contest…
