Well, was playing around today and realized that the links on the left hand side hadn’t been working for quite awhile…
Needless to say, they should be working now 🙂
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…
Ok, I am ticked off…
Some idiot in some other country has been using my site and service here to send out SPAM! The idiot (my apologies to all idiots out there as this guy deserves to be called something much worse) mistakenly used an account I check frequently.
Thanks to the great support and investigation on the part of the people who run the Hosting Company, SierraNevadaInternet, they were able to track down the offending process and upgrade the script.
Meanwhile, if anyone recieved an unsolicated email from stuarttech.com, believe me, it was not me or my service. If you did recieve some SPAM with the return address as stuarttech.com then please forward me the full email including headers (I can walk you through this) to spam@stuarttech.com.
Thanks

Is Customer Service Dead? Boy, it sure seems like it. Everywhere I go, it seems like the “Brick and Mortar” stores have completely lost the concept of customer service. I went into an eye-glass store yesterday to pick up contacts that Nancy had ordered for me, and they had maybe 4 people working and 3 customers. One idiot just stood there, making eye contact with me at least 10 times but never came up and asked to help me. The other, obviously the manager, decided that now would be a good time to show a new employee the phone system. This was in front of another customer standing in front of him!
I was half tempted to pick up my cell phone and call the store while standing in it to get some service, because I overheard the manager state that it was critical to answer the phone, if nothing else. Yeah, forget the customers standing at the counter waiting for 10 minutes for you to tear yourself away from that griping phone speach so gracefully laminated and glued to the wall next to the phone!
So finally another employee comes over and has the gall to ask if I’ve been helped yet! Yeah right, if I had been helped already, I wouldn’t be standing here watching tweedle dee and tweedle dumb over there. Anyway, I told her I was here to pick up contacts I’d ordered. I told her my name, Patrick Stuart, even spelled it S-T-U-A-R-T. She went back to look and I know she looked under Stewart, she came back out and said, how do you spell your last name? S-T-U-A-R-T!!!! Oh, ok, let me go back and check again… GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Ok, she comes back with the contacts, finally. I mention that they are already paid (paid over the phone) and just to give them to me. She says, Oh you know which is the right and left? Damn, she actually thought! Oh well, no, please put your little sticker on the box and indicate Right or Left. Then she goes to get me a bag, for two boxes of contacts. I said I don’t need a bag. She finally says, sorry for the wait, and my final comment to her was, I am sorry I ever bought anything from this store.
So, the moral of the story for the kids is… Set clear expectations for shopping, sometimes it is best to order stuff online or over the phone, that way your expectations for customer service are so low to begin with, you can’t help but be satisfied! I guess its just me, when I see a human being in person, in a service role, they should have some sort of skills in helping others and getting business done. I guess they have other priorities, like answering the phone 🙂
Well,
My friend Jordan’s Site is finally updated with the new design and system.
Hard work over the weekend but finally got it working…
Check it out at www.jordanbeswick.com
On a side note, Samantha turned 1 on Friday and we had a big family party for her. Over 50 family members showed up at the house to wish her well. Fun was had by all, but it was a long day…
Oh well, have to go back to watching the WWE pay per view, Judgement day… Should be a good show. Then have to watch X-Files. Good thing we have a Dish PVR system that is finally stable to record one show while we watch something on cable or on another tv.
Sorry about not posting much lately…
Been working on a lot of different stuff. Work is keeping me quite busy, plus I am helping a couple of friends get websites started. Announcements will follow when they are ready for public consumption but for now, you’ll just have to wait.
On the family note, Samantha is only a couple weeks away from turning 1 year old. I can’t believe how fast the last year has flown by. Eventually I’ll get some more pictures up on her site, but for now, again, you’ll have to wait…
Well, I’m going to take a break and watch CSI on my PVR, great thing PVR’s are… Watching shows when you want to, not when they want you to.
Later
Ok,
I don’t normally do this, but this needs to be addressed… Check this link out and follow the instructions… Removing Brilliant Digital Entertainment’s KaZaA-bundled software: a guide
Do this now! For those that are not up on the internet… Spyware and/or Scumware are hidden programs included with most “free” programs.
However, unlike a virus, these programs can and do track your clicks online / offline. They also have the ability to track keystrokes, web viewing habits, even access your harddrive and all the files. Brilliant Networks has included its B3D projector software with various downloadable programs (mainly KaZaa Media Desktop) and is probably one of the worst overt offenders as it relates to spyware or scumware.
Immediately go to LavaSoft and download Ad-Aware 5.71 which will detect and remove all known spyware / scumware programs.
Also go to http://housecall.antivirus.com/ and do a virus scan to insure your pc is clean.
Of course if you are reading this on a Mac, you don’t need to worry about this 🙂
Grrr… I got this email from a family member who said they couldn’t see my site at all…
My attempt at mastering CSS has revealed some limitations in its cross browser compatibilities… So, I decided to redo the site, once again…
This way, as long as you can see tables, you’ll be able to see the site…
